Enjoy more DVGRR Alumni Superheroes:
We have two superheroes: Winnie who arrived emaciated and scared and has since overcome anxiety and fear, and DVGRR for rescuing her. – Stephanie Lower

Sheila is our superhero because she really rescued us, our kitty, and our rescue Bichon. – Peggy Brown

Della is a superhero mentor dog at DVGRR, helping puppy mill survivors adjust and gain confidence. – Carleigh Erkinger

Nora’s a superhero. She went from rescued puppy mill survivor to therapy dog, now visiting nursing homes and schools. – Joann and Doug Slichter

What began as simply giving a rescue dog a loving home has turned into a beautiful journey of comfort, connection, and healing. Dewey’s gentle spirit, intuitive nature, and calming presence quickly revealed that he had something special to offer – not just to our family, but to those facing some of life’s most difficult moments. – Kari Walters

This past March my husband, Jim became quite ill and was placed in Hospice care. From the time Jim returned home from the hospital and until he passed (10 days), Sophia watched over him 24/7. Her love and loyalty for him knew no bounds, and that is the reason she is my SuperHero! – Pat Kermes

Teddy #2 arrived at DVGRR as a shut-down, 4-year-old discarded breeder boy, but over the course of two years with much patience and understanding, he now loves to go on walks and meet his friends, rides in the car and became a mentor dog. – Debbie Cooper

It was love at first sight when we met Reagan, a special needs dog. There were hardships to face because of neurological and vision issues. We debated returning her, but knew our lesson to our kids: Make a commitment and follow through. Today, we wouldn’t trade her for the world. – Barb Orth

This is our superhero Polly, adopted in March 2023. She has done great, and now at age 8, she is teaching our new rescue Buddy (age 2) how to behave!
They are both such loved family members. – Marianne Devine

Buddy, adopted this August, is special. He has a natural sense of when people need to be cheered up and is well versed with obedience. He’s training to be a certified therapy dog. And DVGRR does so much for the dogs, both medically and behaviorally and find the perfect home for each dog. Both are superheroes.

It’s simple: When you give like a superhero, more dogs will become superheroes like these!
